Aglocell Delivers 5G/4G Layer Management Performance Optimization

Aglocell’s 5G/4G AI-based layer management optimization solution optimizes the network performance of the three spectrum layers that are required to provide key capabilities that deliver 5G usage scenarios. Users battling inter-cell interference get stuck in a slow coverage layer when they need to be in a capacity layer resulting in low throughput for the user and reduced efficiency for the mobile operator.

5G includes three usage scenarios: Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC), and Ultra-Reliable and Low Latency Communications (URLLC).

5G usage scenarios include:

In addition, 5G key capabilities include:

To address diversified requirements of the 5G usage scenarios, 5G users need access to “high”, “medium” and “low” frequencies (Figure 1). When users are experiencing packet loss or a low signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) they are forced down to a lower frequency with a low modulation rate that only supports slow data rates. Aglocell provides automated, AI-based solutions that reduce packet loss and improves SINR improving the user’s ability to move from the coverage layer to capacity layers.

Bands below 6 GHz are crucial to support most 5G use scenarios in a wide area. The 3300-4200 and 4400-5000 MHz frequency ranges are suitable to deliver the best compromise between wide-area coverage and good capacity. Aglocell solutions assist users in utilizing this layer to provide optimal coverage and capacity by improving SINR and reducing packet loss.

Low frequencies (below 2 GHz) continue to be essential to extend the 5G mobile broadband experience to wide areas and in deep indoor environments; mMTC and URLLC usage scenarios also greatly benefit from the low frequencies’ extended coverage. Aglocell solutions utilize automation and AI to improve layer management by reducing packet loss and improving SINR to allow users stuck in this coverage layer to utilize a capacity layer.

High frequencies (above 6 GHz) are indispensable for providing additional capacity and delivering the extremely high data rates required by some 5G eMBB applications. Since users only utilize this layer a small fraction of the time, the Aglocell solutions assist in enabling users to utilize this layer more often.

Aglocell provides AI-based layer management optimization to optimize the network performance of the three spectrum layers that are required to provide the key capabilities that deliver the 5G usage scenarios. By utilizing AI to reduce inter-cell interference users are free to more easily move between layers increasing 5G/4G throughput and network capacity
